New Features in MARS as of September 2010

Reporting and Querying Module

DOC - Quarterly Budget Execution Report (Available in May 2010) - Displays the data submitted to NOAA Budget Office for submission into OMB's MAX system. This data is required by DOC per OMB mandate. This report uses a structure called the Budget Program Group, a grouping of programs defined collectively by NOAA Budget and DOC. The report includes the following tabs:
--NOAA BPG Summary - Shows Dollars and FTE by Budget Program Group
--NOAA OC Summary - Shows Dollars by Object Code
--NOAA OC Summary by BPG - Shows Dollars by Budget Program Group, Object Code, and Fiscal Month
(The three tabs above show the data exactly as it appears on corresponding tabs in the MAX system)
--Gain Loss Rounding - Shows the impact of entering dollars rounded to thousands (as required by the MAX system)
--Programs by BPG - Shows a program breakdown of the first tab (Dollars and FTE by Budget Program Group)
--Validate by ORF PAC - Shows the dollars and FTE by ORF and PAC and Line Office and can be used to validate the dollars against the NOAA Variance Comments ORF, PAC, REIMB Graph - With Responses report
--Data Entry - Displays the raw data submitted to MAX in the required entry format

DOC - Quarterly Budget Execution Report - CBS P4 to BPG Crosswalk (Available in May 2010) This report shows the mapping of programs to the Budget Program Groups defined by NOAA Budget and DOC. A second tab shows any programs that have actuals and are not mapped to a BPG.

Data Entry Module

Deepwater Horizon Reporting (Available in May 2010)
Added Deepwater Horizon Reporting functionality to the major MARS Data Entry Reports (Status of Funds, Budget, CBS History, Labor).
There are 4 options available:
- To include all projects
- NRDA - retrieve only project code 17K3EM6
- PFRA - retrieve only project code 17K3NQ8
- Include only other Deepwater Horizon Incident Projects (assigned for DH)

Travel Reporting (Available in May 2010)
Report 79b was updated to use MARS Travel Numbering System info (for participating Line Offices) until CBS provides Travel Manager data.

On-line password reset - 11g version (Available in July 2010)
New 11g Data Entry version has self-service password reset functionality. Users can reset their passwords on-line at any time using their NOAA e-mail account (Forget Password Link on the Data Entry Log-In Page).
